Donation Rate Report Card

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) compiles this report each month and shares it with organ procurement organizations, transplant centers, hospitals and other audiences. This information is publicly available. This also is one of the reports Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) uses in preparing for their surveys.

This Report Card shows the Donation Rate (the number of actual donors divided by the number of eligible deaths and other donors) for our hospitals. To show up on this Report Card, a hospital must have at least one patient that meets eligible death criteria (see Eligible Death Definition) or at least one donor that falls outside of the eligible criteria.

Please note: eligible death criteria is established for statistical purposes. This does not mean that patients that fall outside of the criteria cannot be organ donors. It is imperative that all patients meeting the Clinical Trigger get referred to LOPA (see Making Referrals to LOPA).
