Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA)

The Eye Bank Association of America's (EBAA) mission is the restoration of sight through the promotion and advancement of eye banking. Established in 1961 by the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Committee on Eye Banks, the EBAA is the oldest national association of transplantation organizations in the United States.

The EBAA has lead the transplantation field with the establishment of medical standards for the procurement and distribution of corneal tissue, accreditation of eye banks, and comprehensive education programs for doctors, technicians and administators.

LOPA works closely with Louisiana's three eye banks—Baton Rouge Regional Eye Bank, Northwest Louisiana Lions Eye Bank, and Southern Eye Bank—all of whom have received full accreditation status from EBAA.
