LOPA Donor Memorial Park Groundbreaking

May 12, 2022 was a day of celebration as members of the LOPA and LOPA Foundation’s governing boards, LOPA's Executive Team and staff, along with community leaders, donor families and recipients broke ground on LOPA’s Donor Memorial Park.  SmokeTree Landscape Services will serve as the contractors of this special project located in Covington.

With the purpose of Working for Hope, Working in Honor and Working to Heal, the LOPA Foundation set as one of its first initiatives to raise the funds necessary to build the LOPA Donor Memorial Park.  LOPA Park, as it will be called, will be a green space on featuring the beauty of its lake setting with natural pathways, fountains, memorial walls, and decks, and will be a place of comfort, reflection and healing for the families of our donor heroes, transplant recipients and their families and the entire community.

Thanks to the generosity of many, more than $340,000 has already been raised to help make the vision of LOPA Park a reality.  Construction of the first phase of this project is expected to be completed by the Fall.  In order to completely fulfill the vision of a park which fills the two-acres along I–12 on the grounds of LOPA’s current Covington Headquarters, fundraising efforts continue to raise the additional funds necessary for future expansion phases and we invite all to help reach the ultimate goal of $1 million.
