LOPA collaborates with funeral homes throughout the state of Louisiana in support of our Core Purpose, Making Life Happen by saving and enhancing lives. Building partnerships with funeral homes throughout the state helps us ensure quality throughout the donation process, as the funeral homes provide service to the families of the heroes who give the Gift of Life through organ, tissue and eye donation.

LOPA has taken the reigns in building strong partnerships statewide by establishing a committee dedicated to addressing issues that improve relationships, and is also instrumental in integrating new techniques involving organ/tissue donors. In addition, the committee serves as steering committee for the annual Funeral Home Education Day. The funeral home committee was established in 2009.
