Bobby Wayne Nation
Bobby Nation, Organ donor, 1986 — 2015
Bobby Wayne Nation, 28 years old. Our HERO. Our son’s time on earth ended April 13, 2015. Bobby had one brother, Michael, and his dog that he loved deeply, Apple-Marie. The doctors spoke to us about Bobby’s condition, I remember telling the doctor that it had been Bobby’s wish to be an organ donor. Bobby had spoken openly about it, and had his wishes documented on his license. Bobby was cute, had curly hair, blue eyes and dimples. Bobby could easily make a room full of people laugh. Bobby loved to sing songs, creating his own funny lyrics. Bobby was a giver and had a heart of Gold. Bobby gave the gift of life, and now we have some peace knowing that he lives on in others. One of Bobby’s recipients was his own Grandmother!! I am happy to report that she is doing well. Bobby had a strong love of music. Bobby enjoyed playing his guitars. One of his favorite musicians was Jimi Hendrix. In honor of Bobby, Grandma named her kidney HENDRIX. Our son will always be alive in our memory and hearts. I hope and pray daily we are able to meet his recipients.
An update, Bobby's mother has had the opportunity to meet some of Bobby's recipients.
We know from the story above that one of Bobby's recipients is his Grandmother, but don't miss the pictures below. We love these stories shared by loving donor families!
On April 15, 2015, I received the beautiful gift of life from my wonderful Grandson, Bobby Wayne. I waited 10 months for kidney. It was so bittersweet to get the call and lose my grandson at the same time. The gift of life is the ultimate gift anyone could receive or give. Please consider being an organ donor like Bobby. Save a life!

Words can not convey all of my emotion and eternal thanks. Since the transplant, I have been able to spend so much time with my Grandchildren, love them, and be a Mimi. I have been able to be a mother to my two children, and a wife to my husband of 47 years. The Nation's raised a wonderful man who has given a gift that nothing can be compared to. He is forever in our hearts.
