Tony Medley
My son Tony passed away 6 days before his 24th birthday.
He grew up in a family of Volunteer Firefighter/EMT’s. He couldn’t wait to turn 13 so he could join the Junior Volunteer Fire Department and work with his aunt, uncle and his mom. He was Chief of the Junior Fire Cadets until he graduated high school and then went on to become an active member and took a Level 1 firefighter course.
It was no big surprise to us he would become an organ donor. He loved helping people. If he wasn’t at the fire department, Tony enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. I was told he was able to save 5 lives with 7 gifts. Tony’s life ambition was to become a career firefighter or a police officer. He couldn’t quite decide which path to choose.
My son‘s dream was to serve and protect. I’m so thankful that even in death he was able to do that. He’s able to serve and protect through so many other people. It helps knowing he’s living on in others.
