COMMUNITY Partners
95% of Americans are in favor of being a donor but only 58% are registered. Our community educators help close the gap by dispelling myths and misinformation that are barriers to donation.
We partner with professionals throughout the community to extend awareness of the need for organ, tissue and eye donation. Our Community Educators are available to customize programs for your specific needs. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to email the Community Educator in your region.
TEACHERS
Our community educators and trained volunteers are able to provide grade-appropriate education to all Louisiana schools. LOPA also launched a Transplantation Science module for high school biology classes through a grant from The Brown Foundation.
CLERGY
All major religions in the United States support organ and tissue donation and see it as the final act of love and generosity toward others.
DRIVER’S EDUCATION
In addition to a repository of videos for use in Driver’s Ed classes, we can provide speakers on the need for donation as well as testimonials from donor families and recipients about the impact of donation on their own lives.
OMVs & PUBLIC TAG AGENCIES
Through the partnerships with the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Tag Agencies, we register Louisianians year round. Our newest partnership with LA Wallet provides another convenient and easy way to sign up to be a hero.
MEDIA
Whether covering local LOPA events, sharing the stories of our heroes, their families and transplant recipients or highlighting an important donation topic once a month, our media partners are making life happen by spreading LOPA’s life saving message into each home throughout our state.
