Mazie Leah Broussard

Our beautiful, light brown curly haired little princess was born on April 30, 2019 and entered the world eagerly at only 5 lbs. Her strong but ever so mighty self was gifted a bold spirit from God. Mazie Leah was on a mission right away to make an impact.

After our devastating loss of our 17 month old daughter, Mazie, in 2020 our family has turned our story of heartbreak into one of hope. We have not only started our own organization, called Mazie's Mission, to raise awareness on water safety but we have become even more passionate about educating others on donation.

We were fortunate to have been surrounded by other donation advocates so as Mazie's mom and dad we knew how important the gift of life is. In the critical moment of saying goodbye to your child that no parent is prepared for, we almost missed the opportunity for Mazie to be a donor. We were told someone said no on her behalf and luckily we found out before we were nearly discharged from the hospital. We never want our experience to become someone else's and hope to encourage anyone, especially families with young children, to have conversations early about donation.
